Motor Boat of the Year - Oslo Boat Show 2007

Fjord Performance Cruisers will be arriving in Australian and New Zealand waters this coming summer. The first Fjord 40 Open was launched at the Duesseldorf Boat Show in Germany in January 2007.

The boats will be manufactured in Germany in the Hanse Yachts boatyard on the Baltic Sea at fantastic introductory prices. Both open picnic style and flybridge cruisers will be built using the same designer as Wally Yachts.

Fjord has always been known for producing exceptional motor boats. In its new designs, Fjord seeks to create something truly extraordinary. They commissioned Patrick Banfield for this project. He is one of the industry's most distinguished motor yacht designers. His numerous innovations have left a mark on recent motor yacht designs.

Hull design is a naval architect's signature. It defines a boat's durability and seaworthiness. No effort has been spared to collaborate with one of the most innovative and prestigious automobile manufacturers in using wind tunnel technology to optimise the hull shape.

Thanks to this collaboration, Fjord are achieving significant noise reduction, as well as breaking new ground in the design of exterior lighting on motor boats.

Fjord have commissioned Design Unlimited, by Mark Tucker, to design the interior of the new Fjord motor boat. The goal is to move away from the conventional, multi-level motor boat design and to create a one-level living space instead. Fjord believe that the market will welcome this new layout, as you feel free to move around in this uncluttered space.

Everyone onboard will appreciate the large windows giving an abundance of light and everyone a great view. When the weather permits, the four panel door and opening hatches will bring the outdoors right into the saloon.
